At this year’s Moondance benefit, BAYarts is proud to honor Alfonso and Georgia Sanchez. Alfonso “Al” Sanchez brings more than 50 years of experience in construction, engineering, business leadership, and community advocacy. A mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Illinois and a Cleveland State University law graduate, Sanchez spent 38 years with Turner Construction, retiring as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales after overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. He was inducted into the Cleveland Construction Hall of Fame in 1996 for his pioneering work advancing Equal Employment Opportunity and Minority and Female Business Enterprise initiatives.

Following his corporate career, Sanchez founded The Sanchez Group, where he continues to serve as Chairman and CEO. A passionate advocate for expanding career pathways and economic opportunities for Hispanic construction professionals, he has served on more than 15 professional and community boards, including CCH Development, BAYarts, and the Bond Accountability Commission. His decades of leadership and commitment to strengthening Northeast Ohio’s Hispanic community make him a valued civic and business leader.
