BAYarts Sensory Garden
Thanks to generous grants from the Ohio Arts Council and the Bay Village Foundation plus a partnership with local business Ground Works Land Design, BAYarts Sensory garden will be an innovative outdoor classroom and gathering space that focuses on the senses: smell, sound, touch, taste accessible to all. Installation begins in Summer 2024.
A Letter From Our Partners at Ground Works Land Design
Ground Works Land Design is thrilled to share that in mid-January we finalized the outdoor design plans for the BAYarts Sensory Garden. The BAYarts Sensory Garden will be an innovative outdoor classroom and gathering space for all that appeals to the five senses. Phase one will include laying decorative stamped concrete to offer full accessibility without discrimination. The updated plans also include a butterfly garden, interactive planters, outdoor art, vibrant plant life, custom landscape lighting and more. The Sensory Garden is slated to be complete by Moondance 2023.
Our President & Founder, Tony Nasrallah, resides right here in Bay Village. In fact, Nasrallah was born and raised in Bay and has memories of visiting the BAYarts campus as a kid, which is now where his son, Leon, participates in various art classes. To Ground Works, BAYarts is community.
Tony believes in the future of BAYarts – so much that he has kick started the donation process with a $10,000 personal pledge. If you’re in a position to do so, please consider donating to the project at bayarts.net/donate. With supply and labor costs still on the rise, every ounce of support will help make this garden project possible.
Join us in congratulating BAYarts on 75 years. We look forward to growing together and we can’t wait to unveil the Sensory Garden to the public this summer.
