Endangered Animals Around the World

Date

Feb 08 2021 - Mar 05 2021
Expired!

Time

All Day

Location

Diane Boldman Gallery
Local Artist Anne K Lyon has over 40 amazing drawings and paintings on display. For the last several years, she has participated in an online group of artists called ABUN(Artists and Biologists Unite for Nature). They have painted an impressive number of paintings of endangered animals for use by animal conservation groups for educational purposes, including ones geared for children.
Check out the gallery wall of birds, big cats, rhinos, reptiles, and more. This show is a great educational experience for kids as well. They can learn about all the different species of animals, where they live, and explore what can be done to protect and honor these amazing creatures – we have coloring sheets for the kids to take home and enjoy too!
Kids can take a few coloring sheets to work on at home!

Anne’s work is available to purchase – great items if you are looking for original artwork to frame for your home or kid’s room – pricing info is available in the gallery or contact our Artistic Director, Karen Petkovic karen@bayarts.net

Anne K Lyon grew up in Stow, OH but has lived in California, Texas, Tennessee, and most recently Arkansas. She recently moved back to her beautiful home state of Ohio and now lives in Avon Lake – Lake Erie has always drawn her to it and now she can see it every day! In addition to art, she loves to read, garden, and travel. She has been painting or drawing since she was very young, but only in the last 20 years has she decided she was an artist! She studied pastels with Suzi Patton, took MANY workshops, read many books, and watched many DVDs in her attempt to teach herself watercolor. While she lived in Arkansas, she joined the Midsouthern Watercolorists Society to learn even more about the medium. She was the secretary, then newsletter editor, and finally the annual exhibition chairman. Over the years she has been commissioned for many portraits or other subjects and has periodic shows in a gallery. but mostly enjoys painting for her own enjoyment. For the last several years, she has participated in an online group of artists called ABUN (Artists and Biologists Unite for Nature). They have painted an impressive number of paintings of endangered animals for use by animal conservation groups for educational purposes, including ones geared for children. She currently draws every Friday night with The Pretentious Tremont Artists, drawing many people of Cleveland.
