Bonnie O. App’s cyanotype photograms and monoprints draw inspiration from nature and sustainable farming practices. In this exhibit, she delves into the intricate relationship between plants and the environment, with a particular focus on regenerative agriculture—an approach that promotes soil health and reduces reliance on chemical inputs.
App’s work is influenced by the documentaries Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, which explore the environmental impact of agricultural practices and highlight the transformative potential of regenerative farming. This approach revitalizes soil, water, and air quality, empowering farmers to move away from harmful chemicals and adopt methods that cultivate healthier, more resilient ecosystems. Healthy soil, teeming with vital microorganisms, fosters more nutritious crops and contributes to a range of environmental benefits.
Special thanks go to The Chef’s Garden for donating the vegetables and cover crop plants that were used in the making of Bonnie’s art.
