About the Judges:
Daniel Levin, M.F.A. Associate Professor, Visual Communication and Design – Photography Daniel Levin serves as an Associate Professor in the Visual Communication and Design department of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®), where he teaches on all three primary campuses, although he is based on the western campus. He has been employed by Tri-C since 2002. Professor Levin earned a Master of Fine Art degree in Visual Culture from Vermont College of Fine Art, and a Bachelor of Fine Art, with honors, from The Rochester Institute of Technology. Professor Levin’s primary interest of late is using art as a medium to explore The Other. He just returned from a successful site-specific Installation of a self designed 39 foot long camera obscura on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution. This Camera Obscura was not designed for design sake. Professor Levin created it as a tool for his viewers to experience a given event from multiple perspectives in real time.
Kristen Cliffel is a ceramic sculptor living and working in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1990 with a BFA in Ceramics. Kristen is in many public and private collections in the area including, University Hospitals, Metro General Hospital, Lutheran Hospital, Hahn, Loeser and Parks LLP. Kristen has completed Residencies at The Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada and the Kohler Company in Wisconsin. She has received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship, has been a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant Nominee. She is represented by The William Busta Gallery in Cleveland and the Sherrie Gallery in Columbus. She continues to show her sculpture widely across the United States. Kristen is the mother of two, the wife of one and the baker of many cupcakes and sweet treats.
