This 4-week class will introduce students to drawing in graphite based on direct observation, which is the foundation of all art. Each class will cover classic drawing exercises, such as gesture and contour drawing, negative space studies, and measurement/proportion strategies. There will also be open drawing time of still-life objects, with instructor input and assistance. Each class will contain a focus/objective that will be summarized on a worksheet for students to keep.
