BAYarts is proud to announce that Elizabeth “Beth” Milli has officially stepped into the role of Executive Director as of January 1, 2025. Beth succeeds Nancy Heaton, who led the organization with dedication for the past 20 years and retired in December 2024. A long-standing member of the BAYarts family, Beth began her journey with the organization in 2016 as a Saturday volunteer in the Sullivan Gallery of the historic Fuller House. Over the past nine years, she has held various roles, most recently serving as Associate Director in 2024 to prepare for this leadership transition.
With a career spanning multiple industries, Elizabeth brings a wealth of diverse experience to her new role. Her background includes years in the legal industry, a successful freelance marketing career, and extensive experience in retail management. These roles have honed her skills in organization, communication, and strategic planning—all of which are essential to leading a dynamic organization like BAYarts. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University and is a member of the CSU Alumni Association.
“It has been an incredible journey growing with BAYarts over the years,” Beth said. “Each role I’ve held has deepened my appreciation for the organization’s mission and prepared me for this exciting new chapter. I’m honored to continue contributing to an organization that is so deeply rooted in our community, and I look forward to the opportunity to help shape its future.”
As Executive Director, Beth will oversee all aspects of BAYarts’ operations, including campus management, development initiatives, human resources, and project oversight. Notably, she is leading the ambitious renovation of the historic Huntington Playhouse, a project that will expand BAYarts’ capacity to serve the community. Situated within the picturesque Huntington Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks, the BAYarts campus is a vibrant hub for the arts, and Beth’s certification as a National Geographic Educator brings a unique perspective to its management.
The BAYarts Board of Directors shares her enthusiasm, expressing confidence in Beth’s leadership and vision for the organization’s future. “We have full faith and confidence in Beth’s ability to take the helm at this time of growth and expansion,” said Mary Conway Sullivan, President of the BAYarts Board.
