BAY VILLAGE, Ohio, Jan. 16, 2026 — This winter, BAYarts welcomes back a treasured tradition: the SOUPer Bowl, a family-friendly culinary fundraiser supporting the Karen Ryle Ceramic Arts & Education Studio. Taking place on Feb. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the BAYarts Cultural Center, the event marks its return for the first time since before the pandemic.
Each ticket includes a one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic bowl created by BAYarts faculty and students, along with the opportunity to sample an array of soups, chilis and stews prepared by local makers and home chefs.
Guests will vote for their favorite soup, and the winning participant will receive the coveted BAYarts SOUPer Bowl prize—a handcrafted soup tureen and ladle made in the studio—along with a cash prize.
“The return of the SOUPer Bowl feels especially meaningful this year as it coincides with the 10-year anniversary of our Karen Ryle Ceramic Arts & Education Studio,” said Linda Goik, director of creative programming & campus operations. “We’re thrilled to welcome the community back for a tradition that celebrates local art, food, and our vibrant ceramics program with its dedicated students.”
Tickets for this family-friendly event are $25 each and should be purchased in advance through the BAYarts website. In addition to soup sampling, the event will offer bread, treats and drinks for purchase.
BAYarts is still seeking soup makers to participate in this year’s event. Professional chefs, home cooks, and anyone with a beloved family recipe are invited to compete and share their culinary talents with the community. Interested soup makers can contact Linda at Linda@bayarts.net for more information.
