
Sharon Dundee
Sharon M. Dundee received her BFA from Youngstown State University (YSU) where she followed two divergent paths – painting/art history and graphic design/desktop publishing – the latter became her main career focus for more than 30 years. Additionally, she brought her experience and inspiration to students at YSU as part of the adjunct faculty in design and typography. Specializing in abstract-expressionist analogue collage and mixed media painting, she has exhibited her work nationally in the US including at the Butler Institute of American Art and the McDonough Museum of Art both in Youngstown, OH, Erie Art Museum, Erie PA, the d’Art Center, Norfolk, VA, and the Hera Art Gallery, RI. She was awarded Honorable Mention at the 86th National Midyear Show/Butler Institute of American Art (2022), the Judges Award at the National Collage Society’s 25th Annual Juried Exhibit (2022), and the Eileen Scragg Memorial Award at the Annual Women Artists: A Celebration Show (2022 & 2023). Her 2024 solo show, Paper, Paint & Canvas was held June – July at the McDonough Museum of Art. She is currently teaching collage curriculum in the Cuyahoga Community College Encore program and other art centers in the greater Cleveland area. Dundee lives and works in Lyndhurst, Ohio.
