nancy heaton

Executive Director, Nancy Heaton

Nancy Heaton is the Executive Director of BAYarts, an art campus on Cleveland’s west shore in Cleveland Metroparks. Heaton has been the director since 2006 when she started as a volunteer to save the dying organization founded in 1948. She is a graduate of Kent State University with degrees in Marketing and Art; later supplementing fine art skills at Boston Museum of Fine Art and SF Institute of Fine Art. After living in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Washington DC and England where she was engaged with various art groups, she returned to the Cleveland area finding a home with the arts community at BAYarts. She is a member of the Collective Arts Network (CAN) where she serves on the board of the CAN Journal, a quarterly publication for greater Cleveland’s visual arts. She is a member of Executive Directors Who Lunch, a collaborative exchange with visual arts leaders. She is an active participant in arts advocacy efforts in northeast Ohio. Programming Director, Erin Stack

A graduate of The Art Academy of Cincinnati and Cleveland State, Erin has a Fine Arts degree with a specialty in Arts Education. An award-winning art educator for grades K-8, she came to BAYarts with a wealth of experience and loyal following. As Program Director, Erin created the model for BAYarts successful art education curriculum, developing diverse and challenging programs and outreach for student’s pre-K through adult. She still loves to teach, create her own work for BAYarts shop and edits BAYarts award-winning newsletter. This email address is being protected from spambots. Artistic Director, Karen Petkovic

As Artistic Director, Karen develops ways to support and promote regional artists via exhibition, consignment and artist-centered events. An avid believer in collaboration, Karen actively connects to other art venues throughout the region, participating in events and fundraising with sister organizations, to seek out fresh ideas, emerging artists and promote the mission of BAYarts. Operations Manager, Sarah Goldsberry

Following her graduation from Wittenberg University, Sarah worked for TIAA-CREF in New York City for 8 years. As BAYarts Operations Manager, she is the behind the scenes technician that provides necessary systems to aid in the mission of BAYarts: installing and implementing data systems, tracking budgets and administering payroll. diana brewer

Special Events, Diana Brewer

Diana is the organizational powerhouse behind BAYarts annual Moondance, fundraising and social events. Overseeing a team of event professionals, she has staged hundreds of weddings, reunions and other private events in the Fuller House. Keeping with BAYarts Green Policies, she is a master up-cycler, building much of the furniture used in the events. This email address is being protected from spambots. Assistant to the Director, Andrea Richards

With over 40 years of non-profit experience, Andrea received her degrees from the University of Maine at Orono and and the University of Tennessee. She recently returned to the Cleveland area from Florida, where she was on the board of The Lighthouse Art Center serving as Chair of the Education Committee. She brings her professional experience in case management, program development, grants writing, volunteers service’s & donor development to BAYarts. Gallery Shop Manager, Linda Goik

Linda is the former owner of Local Girl Gallery where she created a myriad of art-­themed fundraising events for special causes such as Juvenile Diabetes, Adults With Disabilities, Domestic Violence and The Cleveland Clinic Starry Night, just to name a few. She is thrilled to be back doing what she loves, which is encouraging others to express their creative selves. As Gallery Shop Manager her desire is to showcase both local and regional artists in a welcoming and collaborative environment. Often found in her home studio, riding her bike, or sharing a story and laughter.

Special Projects, Pam Mills

Besides managing BAYarts memberships, Pam is the nurturing and creative force behind many of BAYarts social events, using her skills as a professional caterer for gallery openings, fundraising and in-house events. In response to the success of BAYarts Farm + Art Market, which Pam conceived and managed, she is currently developing member events that highlight the farm to table movement and BAYarts sustainable practices. Office Manager, Beth Milli

As Office Manager, Beth brings her experience in retail management, marketing and fundraising to oversee “front of the house” operations and communications between staff and visitors. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Cleveland State University, with a concentration in advertising and public relations. She has been a freelance writer/editor for over 10 years, creating marketing communication programs for a wide variety of markets and has also worked in educational publishing correlating classroom textbook materials to the Common Core State Standards. An avid nature enthusiast and blogger on environmental education, Beth’s personal passions are a perfect fit for the BAYarts mission and motto “Artistic by Nature."

Marketing Manager, Jessica Stockdale

After attending Ashland University, Jessica worked as an independent entertainment professional, specializing in television entertainment via digital media. An avid creative writer, she contributes to several on-line outlets as a brand ambassador and editor. At BAYarts, her expertise in social media, HTML coding and SEO has been instrumental in developing and maintaining the BAYarts website and social media activities. Education Assistant, Melanie Harlan

Melanie studied Fine Art at Lorain Community College and continued studying Art History at The Ohio State University. As an assistant to the Programming Director, Melanie has been instrumental in implementing and maintaining BAYarts online registration system and overseeing daily class logistics: registration, class preparation, student and parent communications and trouble-shooting. Kate brings over 17 years of experience in the field of early education management and business operations. As an education assistant, Kate enjoys working behind the scenes to support the program manager and teaching staff, assist in class preparation, and maintain effective communication systems.
