In this weekend workshop, students will learn how to break away from a coloring-in painting style and start painting watercolor with confident brush strokes for a more spontaneous and impressionistic appearance. Strong emphasis will be placed on tonal value pattern, understanding the wetness ratio of paper and paint brush, color temperature as well as the principle of design. This workshop is designed to help students gain insight in discovering the true quality of watercolor so that he/she can create paintings with maximum visual and emotional impact.

Yuki Hall

Yuki Hall is an impressionistic watercolor artist. After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering, she had a career as an engineer in the automotive industry until 2006, when she decided to leave the workforce and start an artistic journey. She has studied the medium with nationally and internationally acclaimed artists such as David Taylor, Eric Wiegardt, and Alvaro Castagnet. Yuki’s work has been accepted into various prestigious national & international level watercolor juried competitions including the 38th National Exhibition of Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and the 46th Watercolor West International Exhibition, where she won the Founders Award. Her works also have been published by highly competitive national art/watercolor publications: two consecutive years (2014 & 2015) in Watercolor Artist Magazine and Splash 16 - Exploring Texture (2015), North Light Books. Registration Fee & Cancellation Policies

Registration: Students are not registered until tuition is paid and all forms are completed. When registering for classes on paper, rather than online, a completed registration form and health release form must be completed.

Refunds: If a student is unable to attend a course and they inform BAYarts Registrar 7 days prior to the start of the class, a full refund or class credit will be given. If the Registrar is notified less than 7 days and more than 2 days before the start of class, a class credit will be given minus a processing fee. (Processing Fee = 25% of the tuition paid for class) No refund if notified less than 2 days before the start of class or workshop.

Missed Classes: Fees are NOT refunded or pro-rated for missed classes.
